This journey marked my first visit to East Africa and my first authentic African safari experience. Kenya had long lived in my imagination as one of the world’s premier wildlife destinations. From the modern capital city of Nairobi to the plains of Amboseli National Park, this trip delivered unforgettable encounters with wildlife, conservation, and culture.
As someone born and raised in Nigeria, this experience held deep personal significance. It was a journey into Africa’s natural heritage and identity.

This marked the beginning of my first journey into East Africa.

Arrived at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi.
Nairobi immediately revealed itself as a modern African capital city and the gateway to Kenya’s wildlife.

Safari at Nairobi National Park

One of the only national parks in the world located directly next to a major capital city.

This marked my first safari experience of the trip.
Day 8 — March 3, 2025
David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage Visit

Visited the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Elephant Orphanage.
Highlights:
- Viewing rescued baby elephants
- Learning about elephant conservation
- Understanding rehabilitation programs
One of the most meaningful conservation experiences of the trip.

Giraffe Centre Visit
